HOLI
Holi is considered as one of the most revered and celebrated of India and celebrated in almost every part of the country. Its known as the "festival of color " and "festival of love" . Holi is celebrated with enthusiasm and gaiety on the full Moon day in month of Phalagun which is the month of March as per the Gergorian calendar.
as its also said to be the "festival of love" , people get to unite together forgetting all the resentments and all type of bad feelings towards each other. Holi is celebrated with name of Holika Dahan or Choti Holi on the first evening of the festival and the following day is called Holi.
Holi is associated with various legends and the foremost legend is demon Hiranyakashyap who wanted everyone in his kingdom to worship him, but his son was a devotee of Lord Vishnu, even after a lot of punishment he kept on worshiping lord Vishnu. So he decide to kill his son, he asked his sister Holika to enter a blazing fire with his son Prahlad in her lap as Holika had a boon which made her immune to fire. But Prahlad was saved by Lord Vishnu himself for his extreme devotion and evil minded Holika was burnt to the ashes, for her boon worked only when she entered the fire alone.
Since that time, people light a bonfire called Holika,on the eve of Holi Festival and celebrated the victory of good over evil and also the triumph of devotion to god.
People also consume the very intoxicating Bhang on this day to further enhance the spirit of Holi.
If the ritual of Holika Dahan is done properly and with the help of chanting this mantra it can bring fortune, health, and success in one's life.
